Animating an Explainer Video
Scripting and storyboarding
Collaborating with a video producer and the Four Bear Coordinator, we wrote and edited a script. I then chose keywords that I thought were important and created storyboards that went with them. Once I confirmed the concept with the client and my supervisor. I began to design in Illustrator, as we were not able to record the narration yet. I played with colors and compositions while making sure it fit with UMT branding. As you can see in the final product, shots were changed and even combined to fit the message.
Animating
I then animated them and timed them with the narration. I made sure I knew exactly how long they should be and kept track of what was done and what needed work. I kept my files organized by shot, subject matter and file type. I always made sure to accurately name my layers and files for easy access. I provided scheduled updates with my supervisor and the client as I worked so they could provide feedback in an efficient manner. I then fine tuned and smoothed things out frame by frame for the finished product.
